Who We Are

    Built from the
    inside of Odoo itself.

ABN Consulting was founded by someone who spent two years inside Odoo — implementing it for companies, training certified partners, and running academies for hundreds of business owners across Africa. We don't just know the software. We know what goes wrong when it's deployed without real business thinking.

    Why ABN Exists

    A gap nobody
    was filling right.

"A failed ERP implementation isn't a software problem; it's an architectural failure. We don't just configure screens. We engineer operational dominance, delivered strictly on time and on budget."

After two years inside Odoo — implementing it for companies, certifying partners, and training hundreds of business owners — Baraka Waswa saw the same story repeating. A powerful platform. A rushed deployment. A team that never really adopted it. And a business owner who blamed the software.

The problem was never the software. It was the approach. Vendors were selling licences. Consultants were configuring screens. Nobody was doing the hard work of understanding what the business actually needed to run better — before touching a single setting.

ABN Consulting was founded in 2026 to fix that. Not as a software reseller. Not as a configuration shop. As a business partner that happens to be expert in Odoo — one that treats ERP as an ongoing practice of operational improvement, not a one-time product installation.

Because managing a business is hard. Most business owners don't have the luxury of time to make expensive mistakes and slowly correct course. They need someone who will get it right from the start.

    How We're Different

We bring something most consultants don't have.

    01

Insider knowledge of how Odoo is actually built

Having worked inside Odoo means we understand the product roadmap, the upgrade logic, and the architectural decisions behind features. We design implementations that stay healthy through version upgrades — not ones that break every 18 months.

    02

    Business analysis first. Configuration second.

We've seen what happens when consultants skip the discovery phase and go straight to configuration. You get a system that works in a demo and fails in operations. We map your processes, challenge your assumptions, and only then touch the software.

    03

    We train, not just deploy

Software adoption is a human problem, not a technical one. Having trained hundreds of users — from warehouse operators to CFOs — we know how to make teams actually use the system. A live system that nobody uses is a failed project.

    04

We say no to technical debt

Odoo's own methodology warns that custom development exponentially increases project complexity. We refuse to build "nice-to-have" features that put your timeline at risk or break during your next version upgrade. We engineer standard workarounds first, deploying custom code only when it is absolutely critical to your core business operations.

    05

African market context is built in, not bolted on

M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, KRA compliance, multi-currency operations across fragmented payment rails — we've dealt with all of it. Our implementations account for the infrastructure and regulatory reality of operating in African markets.

    06

ERP as ongoing practice, not one-time product

Your business will change. Your processes will evolve. The software needs to keep up. We build long-term partnerships — not install-and-disappear engagements — because operational excellence is a continuous journey, not a go-live date.

    How We Work

    Six phases.
    No shortcuts.

Every ABN engagement follows a structured delivery framework — because a rushed go-live costs far more than a thorough discovery. Each phase has defined deliverables and clear sign-off gates. You always know where you are in the process.

    1

    Discovery

    Operational Mapping

Before a single configuration screen is opened, we spend time understanding how your business actually runs — not how you think it runs. We immediately establish a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) within your ranks — an internal champion empowered to make fast, authoritative decisions to prevent committee bottlenecks. We interview stakeholders, document process flows, identify bottlenecks, and define what success looks like in measurable terms.

    2

    Design

    Solution Architecture

We design the Odoo architecture around your validated processes — module selection, data model, integration requirements, user roles, and approval workflows. This is where we push back on requests that will create technical debt. The architecture is agreed and signed off before any build begins.

    3

    Build

    Configuration & Development

Configuration of core modules, setup of chart of accounts, product catalogue, workflows, and access rights. Where custom development is required, we build upgrade-safe modules with clean Python architecture — not workarounds that break on the next version.

    4

    Validate

    User Acceptance Testing

Your team tests against real business scenarios — not scripted demos. We run structured UAT sessions with department heads, resolve issues, and iterate until the system mirrors operational reality. No go-live without sign-off from the people who will actually use it.

    5

    Launch

    Training & Go-Live

Role-based training sessions — not generic product walkthroughs. Finance team training is different from warehouse operator training. We run hands-on sessions aligned to actual job responsibilities, then manage the go-live cutover with a detailed migration and launch plan.

    6

    Sustain

    Hyper-Care & Continuous Improvement

Go-live is not the finish line. The first 90 days post-launch are when teams form habits and when edge cases surface. We provide dedicated support, monitor adoption metrics, and run process reviews to keep the system aligned with your evolving operations.

    Partnership

Official Odoo Partner — because credentials matter.

Being an Official Odoo Partner isn't a marketing label. It means direct access to Odoo's technical resources, the ability to offer discounted licensing, access to the partner portal, and accountability to Odoo's quality standards. When you work with ABN, you're working with a team that Odoo itself has vetted.
